Lee Child - The Affair, A Jack Reacher Series Crime Suspense Novel
British writer and Nr. one New York Times best-selling crime author Jim Grant (under his famous pseudonym, Lee Child) never disappoints Jack Reacher fans when it comes to suspense and a good story. The Affair is the latest instalment of the Jack Reacher series – Reacher himself is an emblematic figure by now.

Richard Mabry - Medical Error, A Gripping Medical Suspense Fiction
Richard Mabry, an awesome suspense writer, has come up with a great medical crime story, Medical Error.

Dr Anna McIntire is a talented surgeon. Once, performing an emergency surgery on a man, the patient dies – however, if his death was caused by a medical error as it seems, then it was a very strange one: the medication which supposedly killed him has already been given to him, without any severe side effects. Soon policemen turn up, accusing Anna of selling medicines as drugs. Then she gets the result of a HIV test; notwithstanding she has not had that kind of test in the first place. Someone – or a group of persons – seem pursuing her…

H. P. Lovecraft - The Thing on the Doorstep, A Fantasy and Horror Classic Anthology
H. P. Lovecraft is perhaps the best horror author of his time, and a classic by now, with his distinctive, exquisite writing manners, his unique, peculiar atmosphere, and terrible nightmare descriptions.

The Thing on the Doorstep is an anthology by Lovecraft, it contains, along with the short story of the same title, several short fictions and two novellas: The Case of Charles Dexter Ward and At the Mountains of Madness.
My personal favourites are Pickman’s Model, The Thing on the Doorstep, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. The first story is about an artist whose works look formidably alive, sacrilegous, and eerie – and people are appalled by them for a good reason… The Thing on the Doorstep is a story of a young student who marries a strange girl whom most of the fellow students avoid like plague. Soon the young man’s personality changes in a frightening way… The Case of Charles Dexter Ward is the story of a young man who happens to find an old picture in his wealthy parents’ home – and one by one he changes until he ends up in a mental hospital…

Jane Casey is a master hand in suspense and plotting. She grabs the reader’s attention from the very first page – what she write is thrilling, riveting, and credible. One of Casey’s greatest works is The Reckoning.
Detective Constable Maeve Kerrigan (already known from Casey’s previous novel, The Burning) investigates a strange case: murders of paedophiles. Most people believes justice was made – but Kerrigan thinks otherwise. In the meanwhile a teenage girl vanishes. She is a daughter of an infamous drug dealer… can she be a target of a vendetta?

James Patterson and Liza Marklund: The Postcard Killers, An Amazing Crime Novel
James Patterson is known for finely plotted crime fictions. This time he teamed up with a talented and up-and-coming Swedish author, Liza Marklund.

The two has worked together on an awesome mystery novel, The Postcard Killers. As for writing manners, Patterson’s style dominates in the book – which is a pity, he is a bit light in that department. However, the gripping storyline, excitement, and tension make up for that. Marklund was a good choice as a fellow author.
A couple, eager to have media attention, commits gory murders whilst traveling around Europe. They take photos during the process, and send them to local newspapers – this is how they are nicknamed the Postcard Killers.
When they arrive in Sweden, they come across a journalist, Dessie Larsson. As she finds out more and more about the grim couple, she meets an American detective who has followed the killers. He has every reason to hate them: his daughter Kimmy was amongst the victims…

Robert Cais - The Sentry, An Awesome Joe Pike Mystery Crime Novel
Robert Crais is an Edgar Award nominated American author whose novel Hostage was a Notable Book according to New York Times Review. The Sentry is his latest mystery thriller novel.

The protagonist is already familiar: Joe Pike, a detective from Los Angeles. At the beginning of the story he is at a gas station and notices that two men attack a shop owner. Joe intervenes and chase them away. However, harrasment will not stop: a gang blackmails the shop owner to pay them protection money. Joe tries his best convincing their leader to clear off – of course, the gangster will not comply. Violence escalates quickly… Recommended to everyone, especially to readers who love action, tension, and graphic scenes.
