The setting of The Scrubs is a prison of similar name: Woodworm Scrubs, London. James Jeter, an inmate of the Scrubs – beforehands an infamous serial killer – participates an eerie experiment, the North Wing Project. He takes in a hallucinogen, thus he is able to create an own world, the Rift. It is not a happy place: its inhabitants are Jeter's earlier victims.
